Not really, unless you consider talking to some NPC or killing Eidonon again and again requires a lot of skill.
It does add extra to the story however.

Hi all,
I must strongly agree with the OP. My experiences described below apply for French district (don't know about the others...)
1. Quitters are now the rule in missions. Tried Naphui quarter twice with my little monk and we had 4 (yes four) quitters on the first attempt. On the second attempt only two, but one being the only other monk. We made it but pfff.... it was hard.
2. You see "outside of the box" professions spamming "lfg..." for ages. Between the two attempt described above, we found the same guys still spamming that....
3. Bonus missions of tyria were usually imaginative and meant extra content and fun things (following peaple, exploring the map, finding the bonus, listening to enemies, etc....). They also added extra depth to the storyline. In Cantha it is just hack and slash and rush. As a monk, i feel sometimes as if I had 6 (since there is usually another healer) prince rurik with me rushing forward.
4. I don't see why A-net even bothered to create graphics for missions in Cantha. Just implement corridors in grey shades.... No one is looking at your graphics anyway....
Please excuse any mistake in my english.
And have a fun game.

I think it's fair to say you're going to have to repeat missions a lot. Once for completion to move on, once for unblurring, several for capping, another for masters, unless you find another way around it, because now you can go in through the mission's butt hole and find a new set of rehashed warriors and assassin type creatures like you do throughout the entire game. Seriously, you should have stopped at Tombs instead of continuing this rehash frenzy. And as we all know, frenzy doubles your damage and I personally feel like throwing up.
EDIT: Since I'm one to post first, read later, I have to say that waarph is absolutely correct. I don't look at the scenery anymore, it's gotten too lame and horrible. Everything is just shoot and garbage. I liked the idea of exploring and having multiple paths to a destination, not one way streets where you are only able to go through small paths leading to only one destination, and even then you have to have the right quest or you can't pass through the flimsy wooden gate and 1 guard. Seriously, does it make any sense? I'm fighting tons of strong monsters and you're telling me that I can't break down one small crappy gate?! JESUS!

IMHO it requires a lot more tactical thinking and good teamwork to get Masters in Cantha then getting the bonus in Prophecies in most missions. Basically, even a half-assed team could get the bonus on most Prophecies missions, in Cantha you have to work for it a lot harder, I feel.

Meh I henched almost all the Master lvl missions. At least Prof ones were interesting.

I think they can both be fun- the intensity of a factions mission, when you are getting mobbed by enemies, is really unmatched in prophecies. It does get a bit repetitive after a while, and the ones where you have to rely on 2 teams do seem to be a bit unfair. It's almost impossible to get the masters in Vizunah when one team is almost all henches, especially since you can't res them if you are on the other team.
Slighly off topic, when I did the first mission (Minister Cho), I saw the guard's kid running ahead, and Togo talking about him, and thought "Aha! there is the bonus!" Then, it all ends, and Togo just talks to him. And I am thinking "Huh? What happened to bonus?". Maybe Anet's original intention was to put in Tyria style bonuses, and just ran out of time to create them? Anyone else think the same thing when they did that mission?

Not agreed, i like time pressure, it makes people actually think faster.
But anyway, i don't really care, PvE is far too easy anyway, exept for the challenge missions

I've got Protector in both lands, but I like the bonuses in Prophecies better. I know its not much added challenge in most, but that has more to do with them being non-level 20 missions except near the end. Even so, I like the extra stuff to do. I also like the Challenge mission idea in Factions. I would like to keep the Challenge missions so ppl can show their skills and keep Prophecies-type bonuses for the missions. If you want a tough challenge, well do a challenge mission. If you want to do more 'stuff' then do the bonuses Prophecies-style.

I got to agree that it feels a Bit rush to do those time attack - missions. No "doing mission at own pace" anymore. And if it's not time mission then it's protecting mission. Not very much diversity...
Alternative objectives (Find lost relic on the way etc.) would make missions more interesting.

Yeah, I enjoyed the extras, some more than others. I thought it was quite comical that one stupid dwarf kept getting captured by the enemy over and over again lol..

[I haven't red all the posts, but:]
My guess for ch3 "bonus" system:
first level if you finish the mission normaly.
second if you [start and] finish it with 1/2 of the size of the max team.
third if you [start and] finish it with 1/4 of the size of the max team.
any thoughts?

Not defending rage quitters who join a PUG and bail during mission but when I start a group by saying "MASTERS GROUP FORMING" and then when we miss the title for whatever reason, i say okay meet in dist 1. I get a bunch of people saying "Oh come on.... finish it"
If you are in a city and someone is advertising for MASTERS GROUP do not join it if you arent interested in getting the reward. Most Masters groups have done the mission 3-5 times and dont want to do it all again if they cant get Masters Reward.
So, yes, I will quit if I specifically state MASTERS GROUP FORMING.

Chapter 3 will have a new scoring mechanism:
first level if you finish the mission with a monk, necro, or warrior
second if you finish it with a ranger, ele, rit, or mes
third if you finish it with an assassin
(just kidding)

Even better :
First level: Normal mission completion
Second level: Normal Mission completion + no use of the word "noob" or any variation of it by any party member.
Third level: Normal Mission completion + no use of the word "noob" or any variation of it + no monk bashing + no "pay to play" monks.
(Henchie groups would not be eligible for 2nd & 3rd level awards)

I think it is good that each chapter has its own flavor, in this case the bonus vs master accomplishments for missions. I hope chapter 3 has something new, different from both chapter 1 and 2. Keep it new and fresh, not the same old stuff.

I agree there on the master level groups. The first time I set up a group like that we didn't mentioned quitting if we failed master. We went past the time and a few ppl were riding along to just finish the mission so we all stayed because we had not told them otherwise. Afterwards though we made it very clear to everyone before entering the mission that it's a master-level group and if we went past the master time (give a minute or so) then we would /resign or regroup to try it again without wasting time. We still would end up with a few people who figured they could get a guarantee mission completion by joining our group and complained when we started /resigning.
On a side note, I usually mention beforehand that I go with a majority rule in /resign, not unanimous like the engine does. We had a guy err 7 in our group one time that had been with us since we put it together for about 3-4 missions. We had added a person in the last mission and was such a group we were even getting master-level without trying for a master group. Everyone /resigned except for the newest entry into the group. He just pushed on. Since we didn't make any disclaimer we pushed on as well, shy one of our party members. That mission was completed, but without master level. After that i tell everyone that there's no reason everyone should have to stay because of one holdout. Most other votes in the world are majority or 2/3 votes. It's good etiquette though to make sure everyone is aware of this before going in. If 7/8 ppl resign in my groups now (when we mention it), or even as few as 5/8, then we map out and regroup if the holdouts don't /resign.
